Journal Entry #2
The Baudelaire orphans arrive at the mill. They notice that the building is shaped like an eye. They go to the workhouse and the manager of the boardinghouse opens the door. They tell him that they are the orphans that will be living in the boarding house. The man tells them that they are not just going to live in the boarding house, but they have to work in the mill. They go up to the room where they will be sleeping and notice that there are many other workers that also live and work in the mill. The workers share bunk beds and are covered in sawdust. The workers were drawing windows on the wall because the room has no windows and they wanted to imagine that there were windows. They put all their stuff under their bunk bed and went downstairs for dinner. They had beef stew with all the other workers and then went back to the room to go to bed.
