Journal Entry #5

Violet and Sunny were worried about Klaus because he had not come back from the optometrist.  It was already dinner time and he was not back.  They were worried that the optometrist was Count Olaf and that he had taken Klaus away from Paultryville.  Phil told the orphans that it was going to be alright and that the optometrist was their friend, but the Baudelaire orphans knew that if Count Olaf was the optometrist, then he definitely wasn't their friend.  Sunny and Violet went to their bunk and began to think of Klaus and what could have happened to him.  The workers in their bunks began to whisper to each other, but in about ten minutes the whole room was silent and filled with snores.  Violet and Sunny could not fall asleep because they feared for their brother's life.
